You can now customize your draft list at http://fungoleague.baseball.cbssports.com/rank and arrange the players to prepare for the draft. We will be using a timer during the draft to keep things moving; if you don’t make a pick during your allotted time, the draft robot will pick for you from your lists. If you need to step away from the computer, you can turn on the autopilot and then turn it off again when you return. All keeper picks (save John’s minor leaguer) have already been entered into the system so they’ll be handled automatically when the draft comes around to your keeper pick.
When the draft begins on Saturday, you can get to draft room at http://fungoleague.baseball.cbssports.com/draft. It takes a moment to load, but shows all available players and their projected stats. You can sort by position, by Sportsline rankings, by your custom rankings, by individual stat, and by three-year averages, just to name a few. You can drag and drop players into your draft queue so that you’re ready to go when your next turn begins. There is a chat window and a place to view the draft results.
You may want to try out the room before Saturday just to make sure that it loads on your machine. If you have any technical difficulties, please alert me right away so I can get tech support on the case.

Sounds great! So how long is the whole thing scheduled to take?

Not only does it sound great, the draft room looks great. That should REALLY help move things along quickly for everyone.

Should be 10*35*max pick time at the longest.
Ben, what’s the time limit per pick?

s/35/40/g

It’s whatever we set it to be. I was thinking 60 or 90. With the ability to queue up players in advance and work from dynamic lists, we shouldn’t need more than a minute or two per pick, especially if we want to keep things moving quickly.

(400 – keepers)*90 seconds would put us at about 7 hours. What about 60 seconds?
I realize we won’t always take the entire time, but still.

I’m okay with 60 as long as we realize that there are no timeouts in the draft. I’m going to participate in a mock draft tonight to get a feel for just how long 60 seconds is under the pressure of having to make a decent pick.

I vote for 60 seconds.

No timeouts meaning we can’t pause after a complete round?
